Quotes of Osama bin Laden
“People want to say there isn't racial profiling at the airport, but let's be honest. If your first name is Muhammed, and your last name isn't Ali, arrive at the airport extra early.” ~~David Letterman
“What we know about Osama bin Laden is this -- he's worth $300 million, he has five wives and 26 kids ... and he hates Americans for their 'excessive' lifestyle.”? ~~David Letterman
"The leaders of the Taliban said today that killing bin Laden won't solve the problem. But, you know, it couldn't hurt." ~~Jay Leno
"More and more details coming out now about spoiled rich kid Osama bin Laden. Time reports this week he was one of 52 kids. Mother must be exhausted. This guy inherited $80 million at age 13 and has since expanded it to $300 million through construction, smart investments and gas and oil investments. This way, he can use the money in his war against capitalism." ~~Jay Leno
"You read about all these terrorists, most of them came here legally, but they hung around on these expired visas, some for as long as 10-15 years. Now, compare that to Blockbuster; you are two days late with a video and these people are all over you. Let's put Blockbuster in charge of immigration." ~~Jay Leno
"This Osama bin Laden guy, spoiled rich kid worth $300M. I have three words for this guy: Anna Nicole Smith. We send her over there, she'll get his money, and he'll be dead in a week." ~~Jay Leno
"It was reported today that Osama Bin Laden has 50 brothers and sisters. Which absolutely shocked me because I had no idea he was Catholic" ~~Conan O'Brien
"One of the Taliban spokesmen said they have thousands of men who look forward to death like Americans look forward to living, which is great because we can arrange that. We'll set them up with death, we'll continue living." ~~Jay Leno
"CBS News finally received anthrax in the mail. As usual, we're number three." ~~David Letterman
"Things have really changed here in Hollywood. Used to be people in this town couldn't wait to get an envelope full of white powder." ~~Jay Leno
"I don't mean to harp on this, but it's like the networks are a how-to manual for terrorists. You see them on the news. This reporter is standing outside a water treatment plant, going, 'If they poured the poison here it could wipe out thousands because the guard is off duty from noon until1 every day!'" ~~Jay Leno
"Postal inspectors have been given advanced warning that Publishers Clearinghouse is sending packets of laundry detergent that could be mistaken for anthrax. Oh, good timing! What genius came up with this promotion? What's next? A ticking alarm clock? Let's put that in a box." ~~Jay Leno
"The FBI is urging all Americans to beware of any letters or packages that have badly misspelled words. Man, this is going to be terrible news for the rap industry." ~~Jay Leno
In Pakistan, anti-American protesters set a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on fire. The protesters mistakenly thought they were attacking high-ranking U.S. military official Colonel Sanders." ~~Jimmy Fallon on SNL's Weekend Update

How about this interesting animation of how the WTC could have avoided the crash on 11 September 2001?

And this job vacancy in Afghanistan? You must be suicidal or have a very high life insurance to go for this job.

Here's a good King Kong picture.

Thank you for the great photos and the ability to see views of the World
Trade Center which can never be seen again.
Your generosity is a contribution to society

Contribution to society? Wow, very kind words but I doubt if I am that noble.

Here’s 2 e-mails I have gotten in regards to the WTC. One is from a very good friend who is working in New York City. Here’s his take on how the city is like after the collapse of the WTC. This is the friend whom I stayed with when I was visiting NYC during the 1999/2000 New Year’s Eve.
Dear allLuckily for me, didn’t personally know anyone that got hurt on Tuesday. Closest I know of were some of Michelle’s clients who worked out of Building No. 5 (the one that collapsed much later). We were rather fortunate that this happened on Tuesday; Choo Kien and Shireen had transited through WTC on Monday (they take it if their preferred train is too crowded), and Michelle was supposed to transit through WTC on Wednesday to go to a client’s place in downtown Manhattan. The randomness of all this is beyond my comprehension.Anyway, since I last wrote, this is what happened: hung around Michelle’s boss’s place until about 7.00, with a short break for dinner at a nearby restaurant. Watched the news most of the time, because there’s not much else you can do. All of us tried to go down to the hospital’s blood drive, but they turned us away because they had more than they could stock. We were told to come back after a few days, but for depressing reasons they don’t need much at the moment.
Some of you have written wondering whether there was chaos that day. I can only comment at the mid-town area (the WTC is downtown, maybe 2 miles away). The answer is, surprisingly, no. People were getting out of their buildings and on the streets, and just hanging around there talking to each other. There’s not much you can do except that. They shut down the subways and trains almost immediately, and the only way you could get out of Manhattan was by ferry or walking across a bridge (for those of you who never bothered with this part of the world, Manhattan is an island, reachable mainly by a couple of long-ish bridges and tunnels; there are also a handful of ferry services) . We thought there was no point doing that because of the long queues at the ferry, and the closest bridge was 10+ miles from home. (I go to work by underground/under river train), so we waited until train service resumed in the evening. Checked the web site every hour for changes. Choo Kien went by ferry to Weehawken, then bus to Hoboken, and the walked from Hoboken. Took him 4 hours to do all that.Oh yeah, no panic buying/hoarding either :-) Crazy New Yorkers. The rescue crews were calm enough that they walked into restaurants for dinner. Saw some of them at ours, all dusty. Nobody complained though. Some restaurants were closed, but this one was Irish (accents and all), so maybe they’re more used to this kind of thing. The experts say we should go back to our normal lives, and not feel guilty about doing our regular stuff and having our normal fun (to be honest, I did feel some of that guilt on the first 2 days). The NYC mayor was on tv the other day urging people to go to the movies and other stuff. But it’s kinda hard, not least because of all the bomb hoaxes which we’ve been getting. There were 90 reported yesterday (Thursday), one at Grand Central Station which is across the street from my building. Real pain in the you-know-what. This is wreaking havoc on the subway system; a lot of people needed 3 hours to get home yesterday (Thursday). The city’s still shaken up by all this, as you would imagine. People are mostly grim and quieter, and don’t talk as much on the trains as previously. The normal city buzz has been replaced by the wail of police and emergency vehicle sirens crossing the city every ten minutes or so. A lot of the police on the streets are not NYC police, but those on loan from the state police. They’ve also got police cadets directing traffic. Guess a lot of the NYPD is down at the WTC site, either rescuing or being rescued. I hope this is all only because a lot of businesses (including Michelle’s company) have shut down for this week; Monday might be better. [Monday, the trains were really crowded, with the WTC line no longer available and people using the one other line available to get them from NJ (Hudson-river area) to Manhattan. There are more people in the city now, but it’s still not as vibrant as usual.]On the first few days after the attack, I think the first thing everybody did when they got to the first street corner of their walk was to turn and look at where the WTC was previously. You can’t really see much, just that steady stream of smoke which keeps coming from it. Right now, you can’t avoid the effects of that day; the families of the missing people have plastered their photos and descriptions (e.g. tattoo on left arm) at a lot of public places in the hope that somebody can tell them where they are. The American flag is flying outside a lot of places, cars and a few people actually carry it in their hand.I’m sure a lot of us have developed a habit of ignoring fire alarms, so I’ll mention that all this brings home the point that your life is worth more than an hour’s worth of work. Friend of Michell’s boss (ok! this is hearsay) who got out from one of the towers told him that some people chose to ignore the evacuation order so that they can do more work. Don’t think anyone will do that again for a while, but try not to slip back into that way of thinking, ok?
Here are some more pictures of WTC.

The other e-mail is from an Afghan named Tamim Ansary who has been living in USA for 35 years. I don’t know him personally but got his e-mail thru the normal chain e-mails style. His words seems very authentic which I have decided to put it on my site..
I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about “bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age.” Ronn Owens, on KGO Talk Radio today, allowed that this would mean killing innocent people, people who had nothing to do with this atrocity, but “we’re at war, we have to accept collateral damage. What else can we do?” Minutes later I heard some TV pundit discussing whether we “have the belly to do what must be done.”
And I thought about the issues being raised especially hard because I am from Afghanistan, and even though I’ve lived here for 35 years I’ve never lost track of what’s going on there. So I want to tell anyone who will listen how it all looks from where I’m standing.
I speak as one who hates the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. There is no doubt in my mind that these people were responsible for the atrocity in New York. I agree that something must be done about those monsters.
But the Taliban and Ben Laden are not Afghanistan. They’re not even the government of Afghanistan. The Taliban are a cult of ignorant psychotics who took over Afghanistan in 1997. Bin Laden is a political criminal with a plan. When you think Taliban, think Nazis. When you think Bin Laden, think Hitler. And when you think “the people of Afghanistan” think “the Jews in the concentration camps.”
It’s not only that the Afghan people had nothing to do with this atrocity. They were the first victims of the perpetrators. They would exult if someone would come in there, take out the Taliban and clear out the rats nest of international thugs holed up in their country.
Some say, why don’t the Afghans rise up and overthrow the Taliban? The answer is, they’re starved, exhausted, hurt, incapacitated, suffering. A few years ago, the United Nations estimated that there are 500,000 disabled orphans in Afghanistan--a country with no economy, no food. There are millions of widows. And the Taliban has been burying these widows alive in mass graves. The soil is littered with land mines; the farms were all destroyed by the Soviets. These are a few of the reasons why the Afghan people have not overthrown the Taliban.
We come now to the question of bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age. Trouble is, that’s been done. The Soviets took care of it already. Make the Afghans suffer? They’re already suffering. Level their houses? Done. Turn their schools into piles of rubble? Done. Eradicate their hospitals? Done. Destroy their infrastructure? Cut them off from medicine and health care? Too late, someone already did all that.
New bombs would only stir the rubble of earlier bombs. Would they at least get the Taliban? Not likely. In today’s Afghanistan, only the Taliban eat, only they have the means to move around. They’d slip away and hide. Maybe the bombs would get some of those disabled orphans; they don’t move too fast, they don’t even have wheelchairs. But flying over Kabul and dropping bombs wouldn’t really be a strike against the criminals who did this horrific thing. Actually it would only be making common cause with the Taliban--by raping once again the people they’ve been raping all this time.
So what else is there? What can be done, then? Let me now speak with true fear and trembling. The only way to get Bin Laden is to go in there with ground troops. When people speak of “having the belly to do what needs to be done” they’re thinking in terms of having the belly to kill as many as needed. Having the belly to overcome any moral qualms about killing innocent people. Let’s pull our heads out of the sand. What’s actually on the table is Americans dying. And not just because some Americans would die fighting their way through Afghanistan to Bin Laden’s hideout
Will other Muslim nations just stand by? You see where I’m going. We’re flirting with a world war between Islam and the West.
And guess what: that’s Bin Laden’s program. That’s exactly what he wants. That’s why he did this. Read his speeches and statements. It’s all right there. He really believes Islam would beat the west. It might seem ridiculous, but he figures if he can polarize the world into Islam and the West, he’s got a billion soldiers. If the west wreaks a holocaust in those lands, that’s a billion people with nothing left to lose, that’s even better from Bin Laden’s point of view. He’s probably wrong, in the end the West would win, whatever that would mean, but the war would last for years and millions would die, not just theirs but ours. Who has the belly for that? Bin Laden does. Anyone else?

Was the collapse of WTC the act of Satan? Some believe so and has the proof for it.
A front-page photograph on more than 13,000 copies of Tuesday’s Saginaw
News has prompted some to believe that Satan himself presided over terrorist
attacks on the United States.
The picture, shot by an Associated Press photographer, captured the features
of a seemingly demonic face -- eyes, nose, mouth, beard and horns -- as it
emerged from the billowing smoke over the World Trade Center, observers say.

There you have it. Associated Press claimed that the photograph was not altered in anyway.

I also got this e-mail regarding the WTC from Sheryl.
Hi. I just viewed your pictures of the World Trade Towers. Wow! I was in NYC on July 4,1976 and looked up at the towers but didn’t get to go up! (We went up in the Empire St. Build.) I am sure your trip there to the towers was even more meaningful since you went up! I hope your friends were not involved with this tragedy. We do not know anyone directly involved.Your photos have helped me to remember what the towers looked like. I was only 15 when I was there and sure didn’t take enough pictures.

When I was in ward 431-1 on Tuesday night, there was nothing to do but watch TV. And the first thing I saw was the World Trade Center (WTC) on fire. I had no idea why then. Later CNBC said that it was 2 airplanes crashing into them and it was an apparent terrorist attack. I was kind of shock. Later that night, I saw the South Tower collapsed Live. I was there in January 2000 and I am deeply sadden by the terrorist attack. The ruthlessness of some people is incomprehensible. Hitting civilians only is an act of a coward and I don’t see how this helps to fight the cause of Islam. I don’t hate Islam but those who organized these act of terrorism. Here are some of the pictures of the WTC last Tuesday. Very devastating pictures.

I got this e-mail from Toby Kanoby and he has this to say:
I have been fascinated with the WTC since I was a little boy, about four or
five years old. That is when I saw the remake of the movie classic King Kong,
which featured the twin towers. I was able to visit NYC while on Spring Break
in ’97. However, I failed to photogrph the twin towers. Thank you for your
pictures. The towers are gone now along with thousands of people, all in a
matter of a few hours. I hope you use your pictures to inspire those around
you or to educate those who are to young to understand. The WTC was a very
important landmark. Now I am twenty seven, the same age as the towers, but
they are gone. I hope they rebuild them in honor of those lost.
